Landscape Photographer of the Year 2008

Classic View.      2nd Award Winner

Tandlewood in mist. Lancashire. Landscape photography by Gary Waidson. Take a View, Second Prize Winner.

I am very pleased to be able to announce that my picture of Tandlewood is a prize winner in the prestigious Take a View 2008. Landscape photographer of the year awards.

The competition, organised by Charlie Waite, attracts over 20,000 entries each year and the standards are considered very high, so to be informed that my entry was second prize winner of the adult classic view awards was a tremendous thrill.

The winning entries and other landscapes that were selected by the judges will be shown in an exhibition at the National Theatre for eight-weeks starting mid November and will also be published in a full colour book of the best entries.

You can find out more about this picture and see my other shortlisted entries on my Tandlewood page or if you would like to see the other award winners follow the link to Take a View below.

Take a View 2008, Landscape Photographer of the Year Awards Exhibition at the National Theatre.

I took a trip down to the exhibition preview and  I must say if you get a chance to see this before it closes you won’t be disappointed. It’s a great show and the print quality is very high.

Take a View 2008, The Landscape Photographer of the Year Awards Exhibition.

For me it was an opportunity to meet some great photographers and make a few new friends.

Having seen my image in the exhibition I keep looking at my walls and trying to work out where I could fit a print that big.

I wonder what they do with the prints when they’ve finished with them . . . .
