At last the weather broke and we started to see a little light now and again.
I had been saving Minard Castle for such a day and it didn’t disappoint.
Not a large edifice but nicely placed on a knoll overlooking a stony beach.
A little way further down the coast is a long spit of sand which is a favoured spot for surfing.
Inch Beach was quiet when we arrived, most of the surfers still tucked up warmly in their camper vans.
The navigation points on either side of the lanes into Dingle Harbour must have been as welcome to sailors in days past as they are now to photographers.
so many on my pictures rely on such features that I’m sure Dr. Frued would have had something to say about it.
The truth is they simply provide a third point of interest, somewhere for your eye to go to after you have taken in the rocks and the swirl of the sea.
A visual punctuation mark of sorts.
