I defy anyone to travel to the Arctic and not hope to see the Aurora.

On our last night before starting the journey home we were treated to a fantastic show which we watched from the yard of the Viking longhouse at Borg.

I don’t think my words can properly describe the spectacle so I’ll just advise you to put it on your list of things to do before you die.

In my eagerness to photograph a spectacle that I had never properly witnessed before, I made a few basic errors which meant that few of the images I shot are actually worth posting here.

It would be a full 6 years before I had the chance to put the lessons I learned on this night into practice again in Norway.
